Cieszę się, że odwiedziłeś witrynę Województwa Smoleńskiego. Witryna zawiera wypisy źródłowe, opracowania, bibliografię i mapy dotyczące terytorium Województwa Smoleńskiego.
Moim celem jest odzyskanie pamięci historycznej o tym województwie, świadomość jego geografii, geografii historycznej, krajobrazu – czyli szeroko rozumiane krajoznawstwo, w myśl hasła Poznaj Swój Kraj. Bezpośrednią motywacją do założenia strony była jednak katastrofa smoleńska 10.04.2010. Przeczucie, że Polska umiera i że trzeba jej śpieszyć na ratunek to najważniejszy motyw powstania tej witryny. Uważam, że ofiarom tej tragedii należy się właśnie taka praca u podstaw – informator o pamiątkach Rzeczypospolitej na tej ziemi. Ziemia ta kryje bowiem prochy nie tylko oficerów polskich pomordowanych przez Rosjan w Katyniu i w innych miejscach kaźni, lecz także prochy żołnierzy Pierwszej Rzeczypospolitej oraz prochy polskiej i litewskiej szlachty, mieszczan, chłopów, kozaków i bojarów. Kryje też bogactwo kultury ludowej, muzyki, sztuki i architektury. Wszystko to powinno być częścią naszego dziedzictwa, powodem do dumy i historycznym kapitałem dla odbudowy Rzeczypospolitej Międzymorza (#ResPublicaIntermarium).

I am glad you have visited the Smolensk Region website. The site contains source extracts, studies, bibliography and maps concerning the territory of the Smolensk Region.
My goal is to recover the historical memory of this province, to make you aware of its geography, historical geography, landscape – in other words, to make you familiar with the country in the broadest sense of the word. However, the direct motivation to set up this website was the Smolensk catastrophe of 10 April 2010. The feeling that Poland is dying and that we have to rush to its rescue is the most important motive for creating this website. I believe that the victims of this tragedy deserve this kind of grassroots work – an informative guide to the monuments of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (First Republic) in this land. This land hides the ashes not only of Polish officers murdered by the Russians in Katyn and in other places of massacre, but also the ashes of soldiers of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the ashes of Polish and Lithuanian noblemen, townsmen, peasants, Cossacks and boyars. It also hides a wealth of folk culture, music, art and architecture. All this should be part of our heritage, a source of pride and historical capital for the reconstruction of the #ResPublicaIntermarium.
